I'm sure many of you were just as upset as I was to hear that Balasia was closing. I have, however, hear that they may be re-opening at another location. Does anyone know any details?

Wired cafe

Wired Cafe on Main Street of Bethlehem is now offering some Vegan Treats' stuff. Just ask what is vegan when you go in.

Excellent food stuffs in the Allentown/Emmaus area

So, I've been meaning to post to this community for awhile, in a lame attempt to bring any life to it.

The wife and I ate at Balasia twice (once for dinner, and once for Sunday brunch) and both times were amazing. If you are vegan and are ever in the Emmaus area, you should totally check this place out. All of the food is vegan, it is all local, and it is all made by one cook. The chef there was the brain child behind the now-defunct Green Cafe in south side Bethlehem, only the new place is waaaay more chic. Set in an old house in downtown Emmaus, it totally feels like you are visiting a friend at their house, and they are cooking for you. Both the dinner and the brunch meals were to die for (kombucha mimosas?!?), the atmosphere was awesome, and the value was fantastic. A must visit!

Also, Cali Burrito (on Hamilton Blvd. near-ish Dorney Park) is another must if you are ever in that area. Smoked tofu burritos with fresh jalapenos, black beans, lime cilantro rice, and homemade salsas (made fresh daily). . .we're talking serious food here! Expect to pay about $8-$9 for a burrito, but you get chips and salsa, and the quality of the food makes it totally worth it.

Has anyone else had any great meal experiences in the Valley lately?

Cali Burrito

3104 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown, Pennsylvania (18103) (at Cedar Crest Blvd)

So I just read about this place on happycow.com and was wondering if anyone had stopped by there yet.  Apparently they have lots of vegetarian/vegan options available and so forth.  Has anyone been there?  Are they as awesome as the description makes it seem?  I wanna go!

Woundwort Blind 'Em

I have been meaning to start a community for this area of eastern PA for a while, so here it is.  I hope that lots of people that are from the area, aroung the area and those that like to visit will join.

On another note, where is everyones favorite place to buy vegan products in the area?  I usually do Queens in Bethlehem of Sign of the Bear in Allentown.  Where else is cool?
